I have taped an episode fron wings a few years back called "Operation Pluto." Sometime in the early fifities the US stolen one of these aircraft from Czechoslovakia. They disassembled the aircraft in Czech. flew it to the states reassembled here. I think they tested it for 9 days disassembled it again flew it back to Czech. reassembled in Czech and put it back before anybody new it was mising.
The story goes...

The Yak was "obtained" from a Polish source. It was delivered to a USAF base in Germany where it was disassembled and crated for shipment to WPAFB via C-124. It was reassembled and test flown - in the markings shown which match the F-86 chase plane visible in the photos I have for several weeks. It was then disassembled and shipped back to Germany where it was returned to its owners.
This is one of the stranger stories of this kind of thing from the Cold War. Some of the photos I have seen were specially declassified by what used to be called Foreign Technology Division of AFSC (before they were unceremoniously dumped in the burn bag). There's LOTS of other stuff like this out there that hasn't seen the light of day yet.
Действительно интересная история!
