Maj F.Shmyshlyayev was killed in action 7 September 1942. However Svitenko was appointed C.O. of his old regiment 14 GIAP in November 1943 after the C.O. G.M.Golitsyn was KIA. Svitenko's career was certainly unique in changing twice between commanding positions of different regiment types (IAP vs. ShAP)!!

Very useful information. I'll try to find this book by Alekseenko and Potapov but I think chances are pretty little.
